GENRE: Paranormal Romantic Suspense

The Octopus isn’t an urban myth—and its agents are anything but ordinary. The intelligence bureau is so well-hidden most doubt its existence. A handful know its location. And fewer walk the halls in the subterranean compound.

Benjamin Sinclair didn’t ask to be a scientific miracle but every mission has its risks and one perfectly-placed bullet ended his life—for a brief moment in time.

Nicole Anima battles demons every day. Life as a paranormal resources operative gives her tortured mind a rest—and keeps her from contemplating her own death.

When Anima and Sinclair partner on a globe-trotting race to eliminate the threat about to cripple humanity, all hell breaks loose. Leaping from planes, crashing into continents, dealing with voodoo priestesses, and running through jungles with zombies hot on their trail doesn’t leave much time for romance, but this duo somehow manages to sizzle.

Two agents. Telepathic mind paired with regenerated commando. One world—and a mission to save it.

She tossed her key on the marble-topped entry table as she pushed the heavy security door closed with her right foot. She was in the mood for a hard, loud slam but the door had been engineered to close swiftly—and silently.

To make up for the disappointing door, she kicked off her sneakers, sending them flying into the living room. One shoe landed on a butter-soft ivory leather sofa. The other thudded against a wall of glass overlooking the ocean. The glass, like everything else in the condo, was designed to take abuse from a far greater impact than a size seven Nike could inflict.

Her back teeth ground as she tore her sports bra over her head. She flung it on the floor, then slipped her thumbs under the sweaty running shorts’ waistband and shimmied them down to her ankles. She stepped out of the damp Lycra, giving the fabric a heel stomp before heading to the kitchen.

Another wall of glass showcased a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Thirty-three floors up, it didn’t matter that she was naked. No one could see in, and she didn’t care, anyway.

The kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and handcrafted, African mahogany cabinets, sparkled. A maid came three mornings a week, but with Nicole’s lack of cooking enthusiasm and her quiet, disciplined lifestyle, it was a formality rather than a necessity.

On her way to the glass wall, she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. She unscrewed the cap, and then took the time to run the cool plastic over her skin. Down the side of her face, across her tight jaw line. Lower. Down her neck, where her carotid artery beat its annoyance in a steady pulse beneath tanned skin. Finally, she put the cold bottle between her bare breasts, holding it tightly against the spot where her cell phone had vibrated.

He’d branded her. Again. Just with his presence in her world, he’d marked her.
