EXCERPT

Caleb watched as she deftly removed the white baking dish from the oven. The way she moved reminded him of the river in front of her home as it gracefully and joyfully made its way to the sea. She was so beautiful. The flickering candles on the table made her eyes look like molten, brown fire. Her skin was so satiny smooth he guessed his fingers might catch on it if he was stupid enough to touch her. And her lips. He repressed a groan. Lush was the only way to describe them. Lush, pouty, and so kissable he picked up his wine glass and held his fork at the same time just to keep his hands from reaching out to her.

What would she say if he did? She had wanted to have dinner with him instead of that jerk Jason Lee. Aw, she’d probably slug him one. He’d deserve it too. A man like him had no right to a woman like her, a woman who came from a good family and owned her own business.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Elaine Cantrell was born and raised in South Carolina where she obtained a master’s degree in personnel services from Clemson University.  She is a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary society for women educators and Romance Writers of America.  Her first novel, A New Leaf, was the 2003 winner of the Timeless Love Contest.  When she’s not writing or teaching, she enjoys movies, quilting, reading, and collecting vintage Christmas ornaments.
